DV Converter -Y/C & Composite

Converts DV (FireWire) to Y:U:V, S-Video (Y/C), Composite Video (CV) & Stereo Audio. The biggest differences between this and the DAC-200 are that the DAC-6 has component output, and that it will only convert DV to analogue (not vice versa). So you can take a standard FireWire signal and output it in component. If you need analogue inputs (including component) you will need the DAC-15 (see below) .

Also features built in DV Repeater allowing multiple units to be cascaded together in runs up to 200m.

Each DAC-6 can be connected to a Plasma display for example allowing a video/audio signal to be distributed around an exhibition or conference up to 200m without quality loss. Also ideal when using DV cameras with analogue video switchers / mixers using long DV cables without concerns about quality loss..

The DAC-15 is a bi-directional Digital to Analogue A/V converter. It has many advanced features including RS-422 player control via DV NLE systems. The DAC-15 has a built in video processor with Colour, Contrast, Brightness and Tint (NTSC only) adjustments. Another useful feature is SmartDV which will allow the DAC-15 and a second DV device to be connected to an NLE system simultaneously.

Audio Conversion

The MediaConverter MC-2E also includes a full-featured audio signal converter with connections for unbalanced stereo, balanced stereo, AES/EBU, and DV/SDI embedded audio. The audio input can be selected independently from the video signal and all audio outputs are available simultaneously, enabling the MediaConverter MC-2E to embed or de-embed audio.

TBC and Genlock

The Focus MediaConverter MC-2E includes full-frame time base correction and Genlock, making it perfect for broadcast applications.

Timecode Conversion and Control

Featuring D-VITC to DV TC conversion, the MediaConverter MC-2E ensures that users of nonlinear editing systems can easily maintain the same timecode values as tape. The MediaConverter MC-2E includes an RS-422 interface that enables smooth conversion of RS-422 LTC to DV TC and an RS-232 interface for firmware updates and system settings.
