TriCaster FAQsWhat else do I need?In addition to the TriCaster you need a PC Screen, up to 3 video cameras with S-Video or Composite output, video and audio cables. Optional equipment could include the TriCaster VM controller, a Video Projector, Plasma or Large LCD Screen with a VGA input, a microphone, and, of course, a Laptop or other computer to run PowerPoint or other graphics. How to I get an input from a PowerPoint presentation or PC screen?Simply connect the TriCaster to the Computer or network using the supplied cable and run the supplied utility called iVGA. This will enable the TriCaster to see the input and select it at any time. What do I need to stream out to the internet? If you connect the TriCaster to your network or modem, simply select the quality and press stream. TriCaster generates an address automatically, type this into media player on a remote PC or get the audience to click on a link and you are on the air. How many people can watch at one time?Depending on your internet connection and the quality you can stream out to 6 people simultaneously. An internet streaming service like www.makeni.com can boost this output to hundreds of users. Can I stream and record to disk at the same time?Yes, but only at the streaming quality. If you want to record a high quality file while streaming you can connect a recorder to the analogue output or stream through a separate computer and record the file on the TriCaster. Can I create my own Graphics? No, not without extra software. You can edit the supplied graphics library or buy a stand alone application to create new graphics. Can I make a DVD of the output?Yes but you will need additional hardware/software. The TriCaster does not have a DVD burner so you could either use the high quality recorded file on another computer or laptop or use a stand alone DVD recorder like the JVC BDX-200. |
