DVC Open days in Taunton and North London
Normally our open days are held at our offices in Hove, but we are planning a couple in different locations - one will be in North London and a second probably in the Taunton area. These will be in September 201. If you are interested in attending either of these open days then it would be helpful if you could register using the link below. This will help as gauge numbers and define our schedule for the day.
Our open days consist of a series of seminars about various subjects, as well as having different machines, laptops and desktops installed with various programs which you can test. We decide on the final schedule based on the responses to registration however a typical seminar program is as follows:
10.30 EDIUS 6.03, including encoding H264 with Quicksync
David Clarke will be demonstrating the new features of EDIUS 6, including the new superfast video encoding using Intel Sandybridge processors.
11.30 Vistitle for EDIUS
A short demonstration on the new titling program for EDIUS, Vistitle. Vistitle is the best program for animated titles in EDIUS.
12.00 Panasonic professional AVCHD cameras including the 101 and other toys..
Richard Payne from Holdan is normally in attendance at our open days and demonstration various items such as the Panasonic range of AVCHD camera, the Teradeck Cube Wifi transmitter and the Black Magic Hyperdeck shuttle.
13.00 3D (stereoscopic) editing in different programs
Richard normally has his Panasonic 3DA1 professional 3D camera to the open day and we demonstrate as well as describing how best to edit the footage and put it onto a disc using the software available.
14.00 Adobe Premiere Pro CS5.5
This is our last session of the day and will probably last about 1½ hours, covering the new features found in Premiere Pro CS5.5 (as well as what was new in CS5 for people who have yet to upgrade). We will also cover the dynamic link to Adobe Audition.
15.00 Adobe Encore CS5
Encore is our favourite DVD/Blu-ray writing program and we cover various aspects of its use as well as talk about the general principles of creating Blu-ray discs.
If you have not registered for the open day, you are still free to come. Registration just helps us to organise the day - for example if we have a lot of people who want to know about moving from, for example, Avid Liquid, to a different program, we can cover that during the day.
