MXO2

The MX02 is very similar to the MX02 LE, with the addition of 6 phonos for direct output of surround sound from the Premiere Pro timeline.

The Matrox MX02 LE works on Windows Vista and Windows 7 with Adobe Premiere Pro CS4 & Adobe Premiere Pro CS5, and on Windows 7 with Adobe Premiere Pro CS5.5 (CS5.5 support was added in June 2011 but only under Windows 7, NOT Windows Vista).

The MX02 also works with Apple Final Cut Studio 3.

The MX02 also works Avid Media Composer 6 - support is limited to either Windows 7 64 bit or Mac OSX (ie it will not work on Vista 64).  Media Composer 6 is a 64 bit program so will only work on a 64 bit version of Windows or the Apple operating system.  When you install the MX02 for Avid MC6 it will also install plug-ins into Adobe After Effects, Photoshop and some other programs such as LightWave.  Although it will also install plug-ins into Adobe Premiere Pro CS5.5 if it is installed on the same system, Matrox do not recommend that you use Premiere in Matrox mode with the current AVID drivers.

If you have an MX02 MAX then it will install into Adobe Media Encoder if present so you can encode using the MAX chips on the MX02. The MAX chips are not directly supported in AVID or any of the programs that come as part of the AVID suite.

The MX02 comes with both the laptop and desktop interface cards.  It is ONLY available in the MAX version - there is no longer any NON-MAX version available.  The major difference between the MX02 and MX02 LE is that  the MX02 has 6 phonos for surround sound monitoring (the MX02LE can only output stereo audio) and the MX02 LE has a slightly more standard battery connection.   The software abilities etc are exactly the same.
