The Black Magic Hyperdeck shuttle is a device that will use a normal SSD drive to record uncompressed 10 but high defintion footage direct from your camera via HDMI or SDI.  The Hyperdeck Shuttle is powered by rechargable batteries so all you do is slot in the drive, connect to the camera and press the record button.

It records footage in uncompressed MOV files which will load happily into Grass Valley EDIUS 6, Adobe Premeire Pro CS5.5 and Avid Media Composer.

The drive has to be formatted in an Apple Format, HFS+, which you cannot do on a PC without buying some extra software.  This also means that you cannot read the footage on the drive on a PC without extra software.  Therefore if intending to buy the Shuttle for use with the PC you will need to budget for this extra software - a good example being MAC Drive si is approximately £40.

The Focus FS-H200 Pro kit introduces a new element to DTE Recording. With the FS-H200 Pro you can record directly to a removable and inexpensive Compact Flash (CF) memory cards (sold separately). Connect the FS-H200 Pro directly to your DV or HDV camcorder using a single FireWire cable, allowing you to record to CF card only or to CF card and tape simultaneously.
