DVC EDIUS 5 - Advance editing

This tutorial is all about what is new in EDIUS 5. The tutorial is appoximately 4½ hours long and includes the following topics:

• Print to file - the new export dialogue box of EDIUS 5 explained in depth (just what is the difference between choosing "render format" and "default format")
• Print to disc - The updated print to disc dialogue box with Blu-ray writing included.
• AVCHD editing - the best way to convert footage for users of older computers, and the best way to edit using 5.5 and a new computer (Ok the latter is just stick the clip on the timeline and press play)
• Gotchas - this is a small section because it is EDIUS, and there are not that many things that don't work as you expect, but nothing is perfect, even EDIUS.
• General Tips - A long section which covers clip markers, audio normalise, easy panning of clips, the new layout tool, customising the interface, image and track mattes and the new GPU transitions.
• Third party software - ProDad, New Blu and VST plug-ins.

Like all our tutorials this is available in two versions, a FLASH version and a DVD video version.

The Flash version of the tutorial is presented in a 720P HD and can be played on any computer with the latest version of Flash installed.  Made with Adobe Encore CS5 it also has some great search features so you can find sections more easily, and playing on a PC screen is wonderfully clear.  However. as many of our customers say they still prefer to have a DVD video version we are producing this as well.

This tutorial does not replace our existing EDIUS 4 tutorial - most of which is still relevant to EDIUS 5, as the general interface and use of the program has not changed between versions - Grass Valley just added extra stuff.  People buying new systems will get both tutorials included.

We will be making a completely new EDIUS tutorial for EDIUS 6, however, as we have no official word from Grass Valley as to when EDIUS 6 will be released (although we expect it towards the end of this year), this will not be done any time soon!
