Colour Correction and Effects

Online Catalogue | EDITING PROGRAMS | Avid Media Composer |  Colour Correction and Effects

Media Composer has one of the most comprehensive colour correctors available. It gets the colours and brightness levels correct better and easier than any other colour correction we have used.

The best feature has to be colour matching. Choose a colour on screen and the choose the colour you would like that to become, either by picking a colour from a colour pallet or choosing a colour from a reference video image from you project. One click and Media Composer matches the two as best it can. Great for matching shots from two cameras - pick a colour from on image, say a mans face, and match that to the same face in a different shot.

Settings can be saved and very easily applied to multiple shots

The main colour correction windows.  The first is a reference shot - chosen from your project.  This is not essential but very useful.  The second screen is the shot being corrected and the third a collection of waveform and vector scopes to assist with colour correction.

The graphs representing the different colours.  Notice the colour matching section on the far right showing the colour chosen and the colour being matched.

The timeline showing the clips in question.
