This 2011 pin (also called a Broadwell-E) DVC system is made by us at DVC and a non-Avid-validated system. The 2011 pin is a more powerful processor than the Skylake with more cores and can address more memory. 64bit Avid Media Composer can take advantage of this extra processing power.
It can also handle more expansion cards internally. For example, it can have a decent graphic card, an i/o card like a Blackmagic Decklink 4K, a RAID card and a FireWire card without any conflicts. A standard Skylake system could handle some of these, for example, a graphic card, Decklink and FireWire card, but would struggle if you added a RAID or other card. This is because the 2011 Pin system has more internal "buses" (the way the main motherboard talks to the different add-on cards).
