This makes it one of the best options when editing on a laptop as it gives you realtime effects without adding any other hardware. The Mojo requires a pretty powerful computer with at least 1Gb of RAM. You can also add some extra cables that will allow you to take component in and out of the MOJO.
The Mojo completely takes over the FireWire port on the PC so you cannot run external FireWire hard drives at the same time as the Mojo without having the computer set up correctly, It also works with only certain types of FireWire cards - like the ones in DVC computers, of course!

Avid Mojo SDI Avid have produced a new Mojo - with SDI i/o. This Mojo works with either Xpress Pro or Media Composer Software. What are the major differences between Mojo SDI and Mojo? - Obviously SDI i/o with up to 8 channels of embedded audio via SDI.
- Component i/o as standard on Mojo SDI, you need an extra lead to add component to Mojo.
- Standard Mojo can encode to DV, giving you more layers in realtime to DV than the Mojo SDI, which gets your computer to encode to DV.
- Mojo SDI can capture HDV and DVCPro HD via FireWire, standard Mojo cannot.
